UNC Police Community Services Officer Pedro Vasquez has been named UNC Police Officer of the Year by the Chamber for a Greater Chapel Hill-Carrboro.
The Chamber’s annual Salute to Community Heroes ceremony honors local citizens and first responders dedicated to fostering a vibrant, healthy and sustainable Chapel Hill-Carrboro community. This year’s award recipients were recognized during the Carolina men’s basketball game against Southern Methodist University on Jan. 7.
Vasquez was nominated by his peers for his contributions and service to the community.
